Travel between Malaga Airport (AGP) and the City

Travelling between Malaga airport (AGP) and the city centre of Malaga is incredibly easy and efficient and for those travelling on a budget, an economical choice as well. The train runs between Fuengirola and Malaga Centro Alameda. Tickets for this train cannot be bought in advance and can only be bought via the ticket machine at the train station.

If you are travelling from the airport to Malaga centro, then you need to take the C1 train. If you are travelling from the city to the airport then you will need the C2 train and you will find that this is pretty much your only option at the central station anyway. These trains run every 15/20 minutes and will get you to your destination in approximately 15 minutes.

When you first buy your ticket, you will also need to get a RENFE card that your ticket will be uploaded to. In the Spanish you are looking for the ‘billette ida’, if you are unable to change the language. The cost of the single ticket will be 2.30 euros including the additional card. If you then hold onto that RENFE card or already own one, it will then only cost you 1.80 euros on your next single journey.
